Sensational bluegrass and folk rock artists Alison Krauss and David Gray are bringing their signature sounds to the PNC Music Pavilion!
David Gray was born in Sale (Trafford, England) in 1968 and is a singer, songwriter, and producer. His musical style can be best described as a blend of rock, folk rock (a style that arose in the United States and the United Kingdom around the mid 1960s, pioneered by the Los Angeles band the Byrds, who began playing traditional folk music and songs by Bob Dylan with rock instrumentation, in a style heavily influenced by the Beatles and other British bands), and electronica (an umbrella term that encompasses a broad group of electronic based styles such as techno, house, ambient, drum and bass, jungle, and industrial dance, among others). He’s a skilled multi instrumentalist (guitars, piano and keyboards, harmonica) who performs with a backing band consisting of Rob Malone (bass guitar and backing vocals), Keith Prior (drums, percussion, and backing vocals), and Tim Bradshaw (keyboards, guitars, and lap steel). He’s had a stellar career with 10 studio albums (6 of which were top 10 hits on the UK Albums chart), 1 live album, 4 compilation albums, 2 video albums, 19 music videos, 1 extended play, and 22 singles. He’s performed with Kirsty MacColl, Dave Matthews Band, and Radiohead.
Don’t miss your chance to see this artist add a unique touch to folk rock and electronica!
